Windows Server 2008 R2 – Where is Telnet ?

A few days ago while trying to connect to TFS2010, I wanted to check if network connectivity was opened.

I tryed telnet. But windows server 2008 R2 yelled at me  : telnet is not recognized as an internal or external command …

So where is telnet ? The thing is telnet is not anymore included as a command for security purposes. But you can add Telnet Client features to Windows Server.

Go to Server Management ==> Add Features ==> Telnet Client.

And telnet command just works now…
